Heather’s love of music began at home with her mother, who always had Broadway music playing and introduced her to the magic of live theater at a very young age by taking her to see her first musical, Fiddler on the Roof. That early experience sparked a lifelong appreciation for music and theater.
Heather continued pursuing that love throughout high school in Buffalo, New York. While attending St. Bonaventure University, she sang with the college chorus and was also a member of the chamber ensemble.
After college, Heather dedicated her professional life to helping others. She began her career as a paramedic and flight paramedic before becoming a registered nurse. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of nursing roles, including critical care and as a flight nurse with MedSTAR. Today, she works in clinical risk management for a local university-based health care system.
Heather returned to the performing arts in 2019, becoming involved in local community theater and continuing to participate both on and off the stage. After attending a Chester River Chorale Christmas concert, she was inspired to join the Chorale in 2023.
For Heather, there is something truly amazing about what happens when one voice becomes part of something larger. Individually, each singer brings something unique, but together those voices can create something far more beautiful than any one person could create alone. That sense of connection extends beyond the performers themselves. Music has the remarkable ability to bring people together, creating a shared experience between those on the stage and those in the audience.
Being part of the Chester River Chorale has reawakened Heather’s love of choral music and reminded her of the joy that comes from making music with others. She is grateful to be part of a group that not only brings its performers together, but also brings the community together through the shared joy and beauty of music.
