Andrea Neiman

Andrea Neiman sings alto for the Chorale and the Chester Chamber Singers.

Andrea earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Maryland College Park.

Her professional experience encompasses 20 years in the library world. Her career began at the Library of Congress in the Music Division and later in the Recorded Sound Section. She then spent just over a decade at the Kent County Public Library in various roles, starting as a Circulation Assistant and finishing as the head of Public Services.

In 2016 Andrea joined the staff of the Atlanta-based non profit Equinox Open Library Initiative, whose mission is supporting the use of open source software in libraries and other cultural institutions. Andrea is the Project Manager for Software Development at Equinox, and in that role she coordinates contracted software development for Evergreen Integrated Library System and other open source library software.

When she’s not wrangling software developers or doing things with the Chorale, Andrea also enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and exploring local waterways by kayak with her husband, Chris.
