Jim Phelan

Jim moved full time to the Eastern Shore in 2018, having had a vacation home here for over 20 years. He lives in Kentmore Park with his wife Debbie. Before that, Jim and his family lived in the Philadelphia area for over 40 years.

He began singing with the Chester River Chorale in the fall of 2018 and immediately got “hooked” again, having sung throughout high school, and in several church choirs through the years. He sings in the Bass / Baritone section.

Jim is a retired executive having spent 34 years with Merck and Co. Inc. in various leadership roles including leading the global Management and Executive development function for over 12 years. He now has his own Leadership Development consulting practice. He has also served on several boards including the Methacton School Board, Harvard Business School Publishing Executive Forum, Friends of Worcester, and others.

Jim holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from St. Joseph’s University and a Master of Ed. In Counseling Psychology from Temple University. His passions include cycling, soccer (played for over 50 years) and more sedate activities like playing with the grandkids (OK…not so sedate!), gardening and entertaining friends at his Tiki Bar.
